I love Staffordshire and I think anyone who visits will enjoy their time in the county. Why visit? What makes it special?
Firstly, my favourite reason is the stunning scenery and variety that exists within a relatively short distance. There is rugged beauty at the Roaches www.roaches.org.uk , and the classical country landscape at Shugborough www.nationaltrust.org.uk/shugborough-estate/
Second, Staffordshire has everything you need to entertain you, amuse you, inform you, and help you relax and unwind. It has a unique history, for example the Pottery heritage in Stoke-on-Trent www.visitstoke.co.uk/potteries/ . It is home to the National Memorial Arboretum, a wonderful location that touches the emotions in a special way www.thenma.org.uk. We also have an award winning garden at Trentham www.trentham.co.uk/trentham-gardens . This just scratches the surface of what is going on in Staffordshire.
Third, it is easy to get to, as it is in the middle of England. Motorways are close by, major train routes pass through it, and also quite a few airports are nearby – Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, and East Midlands www.airportguides.co.uk And when staying in Staffordshire there are some lovely accommodations in peaceful settings and yet close by to the attractions.
What does Staffordshire lack? A coast! I love coastal walks, the sea air and openness help to clear my head and invigorate me. However, I can show you the evidence that Staffordshire used to have a coast. Imagine the Caribbean and the warm shallow tropical seas. Well, many millions of years ago they existed here! It is fascinating to discover and experience the proof for yourself.
Whether you live a long way from Staffordshire or are our neighbour, we will welcome you and at 3xp help you see the gems we have to offer.
